Just a personal note, people always reference Kaepernick when they talk about guys who eat up ground with long legs, but the guy who I'll always remember for that is Matt Jones out of Arkansas. He didn't look fast at all but he ran away from everybody.

It's not an awful thing to have depth, either. It's nice to be able to give your guys a blow, and have the position not fall apart. Johnson seems like the utility infielder of the secondary, a guy who can come in at any position, and probably end up playing just about as many snaps as a starter...

I mean, this is sort of the end of the discussion. If the recruiting uptick leads to improved defenses, scheme be damned, then fine. If it doesn't, then fine, but recruiting only matters as it influences performance.

Gotcha. That said, I think you'd have to be a PRETTY bad passer to not be able to keep teams honest. Tevin Washington was good enough. Josh Nesbitt was good enough. Neither of those guys is any worse as a passer than Jordan, IMO.
