Thanks Eric. Was curious as to what would be said. I do like the fact folks notice Tre' comes to work each day ready to get better. He has also been bustin' his tail in the weight room you know. Squatted three reps of 550 last week to celebrate his 19th birthday. He has also been doing a...
Wow....funny how a thread about a redshirt report turns into a five-page discourse on offense with the mention of just one player. Since my boy is going to be on the redshirt report I was looking forward to reading that thread.
The son of a friend of mine signed with Air Force. He got a full scholarship, plus will be paid at the end of each year. But my friend said freshmen do not play their first year and are automatically redshirted. FWIW...if anything.
And as for the true freshmen, or otheres, who are going to be redshirted and play on the scout team, then the head coach or coordinator should sit down with them in private and discuss this with them....IMHO.
SidewalkGTfan made a comment which leads me to a question. Can a true freshman, who is probably on the redshirt train, actually participate in an early season game? Like taking a few snaps in the 2nd half of the Wofford or Tulane games? Does getting actual playing time early in the season...
Billy Lothridge wasn't too bad at dropping back and chunking it downfield. Okay guys, take your time and go look it up....early 1960s. Heisman Trophy runner-up in 1963.
Yippee! I got a scrimmage double-header Saturday. GT at 9 am and Lowndes High @ Norcross at 6 pm. Get to see both grandsons ball. Of course, I do have to leave south GA at 6 am and won't be home till sometime Sunday morn, but it should be worth it.
Awbuzz....thanks so much for doing this and for the nice comment. I am sure he was quite surprised. Looking forward to my Sunday night phone conversation with him to get his take on fan day and the first couple of days of practice. Also how he feels about his Chem final.
Man....I really wish I could be there. But the pension only allows for one trip up to Atlanta (225 miles) a month and the middle g'son has a scrimage next Saturday @ Norcross. But I haven't seen my boy since late May and it's killin' me. If one of you jolly good fellows would be so...
I cannot read the first page of this thread because if causes an error message, so forgive me for not having the full story. But I know one kid who has about maxed out in the weight room and Sisk has limited his weight work. So for the past two months he has been concentrating on agility and...
Of couse Coaches Pelton and Roof...and McCullom... have quite a task ahead over the next five weeks, but those guys know football and the defensive aspects way more than I do. I think it would be beneficial in the three opening games of the season if the offense could rattle off several 9-12...
Hopefully I will be going to all the home games...if things work out. And would just love to make to the Big Easy for the game vs. the Green Wave. Cafe du Monde here I come?
