  1. ACC Standings

I think it’s fair to blame the SEC for ruining college football ;)
  2. Game 4 #GTvsWF Postgame

I would’ve bet money that 2006 Calvin Johnson had a TD in more straight games than that, damn.
  3. Game 4 #GTvsWF Postgame

The secondary got beat badly a few times but you don’t get that many sacks after that long in the pocket without them having a lot of good coverage too on other plays.
  4. Game 4 #GTvsWF Postgame

Most of the turnovers were forced turnovers which is a lot better than just fluky ones.
  5. Game 4 #GTvsWF Postgame

Third quarters, man. King seemed to miss more throws than normal but I’m happy to be spoiled enough to consider this a rough outing after the first quarter.
  6. GT @ Wake Kick Time: 6:30pm on the CW

I’ve done it a couple times but I ended up fast forwarding through GT being on defense since it wasn’t anything to write home about
  7. Conference Realignment

I think the Alabama/Clemson examples are quite different than Saudi Arabia or similar. Football success -> more applications -> more enrolled people with more impressive transcripts is a material change. "Oh, this country is sponsoring all my favorite golf events, they're so cool and nice" is not.
  8. Coach Prime to Colorado

We should've just had Colorado join the ACC instead of the Big 12 along with SMU and then this would still be on topic.
  9. NIL, Transfers, and Stratospheric Salaries. What Is the Future of GT Football and College Football in General?

What part of "pay me to consider you" would be outside of the NCAA's current power to enforce? Even in the maximal sorts of interpretations of the Supreme Court's potential future willingness to overturn regulations or declare athletes employees, that's *before there's any relationship at all*...
  10. Question for y"all

Cool, thanks! Interesting, so seems like you don't have to be the most disciplined to be good, but if you're the least disciplined you're probably really bad. Or Alabama and Tennessee! Unclear what direction the causation goes, though - maybe if you can't coach ANY areas you can't coach...
  11. Coach Prime to Colorado

It's not negative on its own but it's being used to discount the value of charisma and recruiting and sales ability and emphasize the importance of spending. But there are far more programs out there that can spend $$$$$ who aren't bringing in the players to turn things around that quickly. So...
  12. Coach Prime to Colorado

I think “purchased” a brand new team is unfair - if it was just money there are a lot of places who could outspend Colorado.
  13. Question for y"all

Do you have the bottom 25 worst-penalized teams handy? I'm curious what that looks like (and where GT landed).
  14. Question for y"all

I’m not in favor of a mid season firing but I think there’s more room for improvement there than some. Even if you keep the scheme the same, some coaches are better than others at teaching/training better execution. But I doubt that a midseason internal replacement would be a significant change...
  15. Top 10 Offense

Yeah, the Johnson offense often scored fast or picked up yards in a hurry. We remember this in the highlights - Dwyer faking a UGA defender out of his shoes going up the middle in 2008 for a TD after halftime, Roddy Jones running down the sideline later that game, Orwin Smith going for a billion...
  16. Game 4 Georgia Tech @ Wake Forest (-7)

Clock-wise I think so, but play calling-wise I don’t think so. If you can score fast, do it. The more plays you take on your drive the more chance you end up in a third down you fail to convert.
  17. Haynes King Update: How Do We Feel About Him?

With Gailey/Tenuta the complaint was always "why couldn't we have this defense with the O'Leary/Fridge offenses!?" And with Johnson it was "why couldn't we have this offense with the Gailey/Tenuta defenses?!" Funnily enough for old sayings, the teams with the offenses won more games in both...
  18. Postgame GT 23 - Ole Miss 48

42 pass attempt, 47 rush attempts for GT = 89 total. 19 pass attempts, 37 rush attempts for OM = 56 total.
  19. Coach Prime to Colorado

It's great news that overall we aren't being outspent by Colorado, but the scuttlebutt at the time was that there was a certain amount of "hire our guy and we'll make it happen" favor-trading behind the scenes such that that money wasn't fully there for other candidates than Key. Rumor, yes, but...
  20. Postgame GT 23 - Ole Miss 48

GT had nearly 40 minutes of possession, the D didn’t play a lot in terms of minutes. A lot of chasing players down, maybe, but not a lot of time overall. They went from largely making OM grind away at drives to breaking down immediately, something looked different. Maybe mentally worn down vs...
