  1. The ACC will delay the start of competition for all fall sports until at least Sept. 1

Interesting take from the former administrator, however most of these are completely unworkable IMO. First to have football we have to have students on campus, and once they are there, the college is going to have to change the way it treats covid positive patients. You can't start quaranting...
  2. NCAA NIL thread

Unlike in football where a GT football player in Atlanta will lag behind UGA and players from many other schools in popularity, Tech BB could really benefit from our location if Pastner and the program play their cards right. This should really benefit us.

Polls are about as useful to helping this situation as the original models are. Here is a number that nobody should ignore: GDP drops 4% in Q1 and is expected to drop 20% in Q2. Half that decline is the healthcare field, which we were supposed to be protecting with this lockdown...

Not sure how much more of a federal response people would have gone along with. The Federal government can't close down a state. They could close interstates and air travel, but when that was threatened the governors raised hell. And without herd immunity and a vaccine, we really can't judge...
  5. The Athletic: At Georgia Tech, ‘brand’ isn’t a bad word, it’s a key word

If you noticed the drums you missed the intent of the commercial. :)

And they have a lower deaths per million than Belgium, Spain, France, the UK, Italy and the Netherlands. We can make numbers say whatever we want. And I don't want to make this argumentative but bottom line is their government expert took a different tack. He put his faith in the true...

  8. The ACC will delay the start of competition for all fall sports until at least Sept. 1

That must have been a decision they just made because as of 17 April, they were still evaluating according to their Provost on twitter. And yes if students are not on campus, there will be no football.

Dabo was a whiny *****. I had forgotten that.

It is state dependent. In Maryland, we cannot leave home except to go to work, a restaurant for takout or a grocery store. Pharmacies and hardware stores are also open but that is it. Parks, golf courses and schools are closed. We have to wear masks at threat of arrest if we go out. We are...

I too have been following Sweden closely as there approach was definitely different than most of Europe. I agree with Red that looking at cases and new cases are hard due to differing standards for testing, so I look at the deaths per million. Sweden is at 139, US is at 105. So comparing to...

https://nypost.com/2020/04/14/we-must-count-the-deaths-from-shutdowns-as-well-as-from-coronavirus/ Interesting article about the deaths caused by a shutdown. To me this is the important quote: "Job losses cause extreme suffering. Every 1 percent hike in the unemployment rate will likely...
  16. The Varsity’s Future

Don't know the rules in Georgia, but in Maryland restaurants can offer take out or curbside pick up? It would seem to me that is exactly what the Varsity does.
  17. Summer School will be remote

    Well that sucks.
  18. Roman Reigns takes shot at Goldberg

I agree Reigns wins the title, but he has already had a big feud with Wyatt a couple of years back (yes they rehash story lines). What I would like to see is a build up to a Reigns Rollins unification title match at WM 37, that would be huge.
  19. What's the takeaway with the number of transfers?

Its not a good look for your model of "get old, stay old" to have your recruits that are "projects" transferring, especially one who looked to be staying. Next year should be a tourney team, but these guys are basically saying the Tech program under Pastner doesn't give them what they want. To...
  20. Thanks for a great season of MBB!

It was a good finish to the season, at the beginning of the year I felt this was a tourney team, and once we were whole I thought we would finish 8-1 over our last nine, we went 7-2. The injuries and the inexplicable loss to Ball St. cost us a great year. Next year I fully expect to be playing...
