What is the play called to the Aback

@techman78 @4NatlChmps I don't know what the number of that play is, but I call it GT Sweep. Not Georgia Tech, but Guard Tackle Sweep.

GT v VT 1st Offense Series

Aha, nice work; hat's off. Although, I don't think you'll see a read of the MLB from under center. Now it's difficult to tell what the MLB was supposed to do; is he making a mistake in a read because the blocking didn't look like a Triple Option or his he just blowing his assignment on the...

GT v VT 1st Offense Series

I don't intend to be harsh, but I think your identification of the reads is incorrect on the first three plays. 1st and 10 - This play appears to be Inside Veer (Triple Option) #1 (mesh) is the DE, #2 (pitch) is the OLB, #3 (perimeter block) is the SS . VT has a breakdown on the first play and...

    JT - The Leader

Oh man, that brought an ear to ear grin to my face. JT did that cheeky thing that your super athletic friend does in a pickup game growing up. He slowed down, let the safety set up his tackling angle, and then turned the jets back on to remind the safety just how much faster he is. Torched...

    Unsung heroics Saturday

CPJ might have been torn between two worlds after that play, but I did enough swearing for the both of us. The not-so-profane summary is "CATCH THE DAMN KICKOFF; IT'S A LIVE BALL, DUDE!"

Film Study - Offense vs VT

I don't think he had to do much sensing. There was a pass (to Waller?) where Griese commented that we only ran a !single! route on a pass play, which sounds so ridiculous it's difficult to believe. In fact, we did that multiple times on Saturday because when we lined up in Heavy, Bud Foster...

Beautiful pump fake on the TD to Smelter!

What would your VT game plan be?

As stylee said in his post today the OLB would blitz into tail motion. In essence what VT did was use the "Easy Stunt" as their base defense. The "Easy Stunt," or the Cross Charge as steebu has called it on his YouTube videos, has the OLB take the B-Gap/B-Back and the DE take the C-Gap/QB...

    JT>VL

One of the reasons Navy always appeared to execute option plays faster is because their line splits are narrower than ours because their players are smaller and slower. Navy's backs are covering less distance even though the play looks the same.
