I don’t disagree. And one nice win won’t bring them back. But 2/3 years of being respectable might.

I expect a sound thrashing by Miami. I hope we execute better and don't beat ourselves, but the margin sounds about right for the talent differential. It could be worse if turnovers hurt us again. Hard to see how we could make much of an improvement on defense in just one week, and our defense...

Must have been an off week all the way around at GT last weekend (but I noticed many of the same issues).

My take is that we have seen strong improvement on the offensive side including in coaching and schemes. We're not great, but we are MUCH improved over last year. Special teams is better, notwithstanding the occasional botched punt. Everyone seems to be missing FGs this year, even very good...

We suck...or we have sucked for some time now. It is why I am sick and tired of losing, and why our fanbase is so dispirited.

While I have few illusions about any improvement in actual performance which might be made under a new DC, I simply want to see us playing an aggressive attacking style defense. If we get beat physically and give up 50 points every game, maybe I'll change my mind, but until that happens please...

Not sure what "recent memory" means exactly, but in his senior season Jarret Jack was money when we needed a bucket late back in 2004. He won that Kansas game for us driving the lane for hoops or fouls late.
