The rehab from a torn achilles is definitely a long one. I know the RB from the Rams came back around 6 months after his tear but he was VERY limited in how much he could do and what he could do on the field. That 6 month time frame is WAY too early for most. My daughter tore hers while...
For me it depends on the mustard. If it's just the plain yellow mustard or dijon then I'm not into that. Spicy brown mustard or horseradish mustard are my flavor preference... or am I thinking of something completely different.
Anything between 1-99 percent is “some.” My point was that nobody thinks it is zero percent of the problem but there’s likely lots of different opinions on how much. I think last year we lost at least three games due to poor coaching, probably four and maybe even five. So count me among those...
I am grateful for the wisdom of the judges in this matter and hopefully the 8 day cruise I just returned from has given me a measure of Zen-like calm and acceptance to embrace excitement moving forward.
I know I'm quoting your post, @cthenrys but this question isn't really addressed to you as you've already answered it. But is there anyone out there that really thinks our problems the last three years have been talent ALONE? Or is it a pretty safe bet that everyone knows that at least some of...
I am hopeful that the changes made to our coaching staff combined with another year of growth for the players on our roster plus some potentially good additions from the portal and HS recruiting could lead to real, honest to goodness improved play on the field. I’m also hopeful that leads to...
I partially agree and partially disagree with this. There are a couple of teams that have so much more talent than most other teams in CFB in Clemson and UGA. Nobody thinks those are hard games because we suck. They are hard games for anyone. Ole Miss is a pretty good team with a darn good...
Paul Johnson and Ralph Friedgen are two of the greatest offensive minds to ever coach the game of football. And we got the privilege of seeing both of them here at GT. I treasure so many memories they helped give me and they both absolutely deserve to be in the College Football HOF.
Kaaya, to me, is an example of stats with nothing to show for it. Trubisky had A terrific season. I think you have to do it more than once to be called a great QB vs a QB who had a great season. I'm going to double down on the comment made by @1979jacket that Justin Thomas should have at...
RE: Akers, you hit on where I was going with his rehab. He came back in about the same time frame as an ACL tear but he was definitely not the same guy as he was. He should regain a lot of that explosiveness back as this coming season goes on and he has more time getting back the strength...
The achilles generally takes longer to recover from but lately has a very successful recovery rate. Cam Akers, Rams RB, had a torn achilles last July and was able to play again about 6 months later. That's a bit earlier than normal, though. Generally full recovery takes between 9 - 12 months...
A few thoughts:
The kid was a special teams ace last year. Guess how bad we were at punt return coverage last year? 104th in the nation. I'll take a guy like that who can help us on special teams. I think that's worth a scholarship. According to his UMD bio and an article I read on the UMD...
Totally agree that OL and DL are the keys. We brought in some new ones on both sides of the ball from HS and the portal and it sounds like we aren't done and that there's a chance for more from the portal in those units. The question is whether they will have enough positive impact to make a...
