Game Times announced for first 3 games of 2017 Season

I think I will skip Jax St and go to UCF.

    Unleashing CPJ's Offense

Well, you could say the same thing about the Offense's familiarity with the Defense. I think the most we can say is that the defense performed better against the offense than in years past. Roof seems to be pulling in better and better talent. Hopefully that begins to show up on the field.

Target on Mills opens up the field

Let me summarize. We will have the best set of A Back and B Backs since 2014 and maybe 2009. That means we are more likely to be successful with our offense. than we were in 2015 and 2016.

    Beat Miami like it's 2008

Miami is replacing VT as our brain fart game. Those two fumbles last year, and the Orwin Smith safety on the kickoff game that we lost in OT were both games that should have gone in our column. Also, we have had bad timing with them. We caught them early in years they collapsed late, and we...

    Opposing Coach Comments in Athlon

We are in somebody's head. Couldn't ask for better. They underestimate our talent, are scared of our offense, and respect our toughness.

    QB battle

Watch the last minute of the first half of the VT game. With no time outs and the ball around mid field, MJ got the team into the end zone in about five plays. No panic, ran the TO perfect to get Lynch down the sideline. Got everybody lined up and on the same page. Musceled into the end...

    Ok Make your Statement

I think if we can just play like a top 25 defense for two quarters a game, then we will have a surprisingly good season.

    Ok Make your Statement

I refuse to anoint Clemson the Atilla of the ACC. They lost to Pitt at home, were a chip shot FG away from losing to NC State at home, Louisville and FSU both complained bitterly (with some justification I think) that the refs decided their games, and they paid the scheduler to get us on a...

    Ok Make your Statement

Just throwing this out. Anyone think that our improving fortunes against uga the last 4 years (all the games coming down to the 4th qtr and we split with them) is a result of a tougher Coastal? By the time we get to uga, we've played against several teams just as athletic so we are not being...

    Ok Make your Statement

The Coastal schedule is interesting. Duke's toughest part is the middle of the schedule: UNC, Miami, UVA, FSU, Pitt, and VT all in a row with no open dates. They won't survive that. Then they will be whipped by Army the week before they face us. Miami will have lost to FSU, but in all...

    Ok Make your Statement

How many players did we lose off the two deep defense in the summer of '14? They either left, flunked out, or were dismissed by CPJ. Seems like it was 6 or 7 and around 3 of them on the DL. I think I'm remembering that correctly. We had enough magic that year that we still almost caught...

    2017 Accepted Student Profile

Where do all those East German 'women' that weren't allowed to participate in the Olympics back in the 70's and 80's go to get their gold medals?

Next Dalvin Cook in the ACC?

Mills will have the most yards rushing, but I suspect Lynch will have the most total yards if we have a decent passing attack. With a 14 game season he might get close to 1000 yds in rushing and receiving. That would be Dalvin Cookish. Mills is going to cause Lynch to see a lot of green in...

Looking into Tech's FB Future (FTRS)

If hiring a HC based on what O system he runs is insane, then why did so many teams pass on Paul Johnson and the TO given his record at Navy and GSU? My point was that if CPJ wins an ACC and even comes close on a National Championship with the TO, then the fan base is going to puke on any coach...

Looking into Tech's FB Future (FTRS)

I think the last few years have proven that if you're good enough to win the ACC, you are good enough to win it all. If CPJ wins one of those, maybe even comes close, we won't be changing offenses when he leaves. In that case, the AD at that time should have enough sense to let CPJ hand pick...

    CPJ on Jay Jones

"IMO its the "who sees the field in slow motion" folks are closest to correct." Wasn't it Friedgen that said WTTE you can tell whether or not a qb has the vision in just a few plays, and if they don't have it they will never get it. That was why he stuck with shrimpy Joe Hamilton when O'Leary...

    CPJ on Jay Jones

I think it was Calvin Coolidge that said WTTE that if you see ten troubles coming down the road at you, nine of them will probably run into the ditch before they get to you. Four years ago, we were talking about how we were going to get Lee and Thomas in the backfield at the same time. That...

    Spring game talk

Here we go again. I had an IE professor at Tech tell me that all problems can be stated as a distribution problem. Too many, too few, wrong kind, wrong time, etc. It's also true of GT football and basketball. I've always wondered what would have happened if Tom Hammonds had come to Tech a...
