    Alabama St. game 12/17/22

Correction--Coleman has an Achilles injury and Franklin is the one with a groin issue. I sure hope they are both full strength for Clemson!

    Clemson Game 12/21/2022 7:30 PM

GT is 7-4, and coming off an easy win over Alabama St, while Clemson is 9-3 and coming off "their most complete game of the season," says Coach Brownell, an 85-57 win over Richmond. These teams are pretty evenly matched, with Clemson at RPI-101 and GT at RPI-108. (NET rankings-91 & 112) With...

    Alabama St. game 12/17/22

I think Pastner said he has a groin issue or something. He was "in protocol" all week and questionable for the game. Seems like he was testing it out and on a minutes limitation. He looked fine when he was in, though.

    Alabama St. game 12/17/22

Just what the doctor ordered. A solid win with good passing, good shooting and a nice confidence-builder. Great to see Maxwell go off. Also good to see Martynov get some real minutes.

    Alabama St. game 12/17/22

Jackets vs Hornets! GT comes into the game at 6-4, having just had finals week and a little banged up, with at least three guys in “protocol” over the last week (Coleman, Smith, and Franklin). Alabama St comes in at an RPI of 305 (!) and a record of 1-8. They have played a pretty tough...

    UNC GAME THREAD

Yeah, that was about what I expected. Especially with our best rebounder and big man going down after 7 minutes, it would have been a huge upset to win at Chapel Hill. What I liked: -The first 15 minutes. We played solid defense and hit our shots. -Jalon Moore slicing to the basket and...

When you say we "suck on the offensive glass," do you mean we suck at defensive rebounding? If so, yes, you are correct (see numbers above). Ironically, though, we have been pretty good ourselves on the offensive glass, with 10.6 ORbs per game (good for #66 in college basketball).

22-23 Basketball Season- 9 Games in

Pastner keeps talking about how we are a good shooting team...but the numbers certainly haven't showed it. If we can move that effective FG% up to a respectable number, we have a chance to make something of this season. If it is more of the same...mediocrity is really where we are headed. Of...

I got it from the sports reference site but it’s in your table, too—all the way to the right (BPM). I didn’t count Bagatskis since he has had so few minutes.

A UNC team that has lost four in a row? In Chapel Hill? During finals? After they have had a week of practice? Talk about a nightmare scenario...

22-23 Basketball Season- 9 Games in

So, where do we stand after nine games? What do we know about our team? There is a long way to go in the season, but since we are about to start ACC play, I thought it might be a good time to do a deep dive into our team so far: The most important statistic: 6 wins, 3 losses. Losses: Iowa...

    THWG: Ugag Game Thread

YES! We pulled it out! Great win for the team and the fanbase. We own this state in basketball (barely, but, whatever--it counts!). What I liked: -An actual home court advantage. -MILES KELLY! He is instant offense and we need every bit of it. That "touchdown" to start the second half...

    MBB Attendance

Great research and post! As for this year, we haven’t had any decent opponents at home, so I’m not surprised the numbers are down. The UGA game should be a good benchmark. Once we add the ACC games. The average should go way up

    Northeastern game thread.

I think those two are the "high-floor, low-ceiling" kind of players that are solid, but it looks like Pastner has seen that we need to go with the higher-ceiling guys, especially on offense, even if it means more risk. If they were getting 30 minutes a game, their numbers would look much...

    Northeastern game thread.

It's always nice to win, and for all those who complain, let's give the team credit when they take care of business. 4-0 at home, and 5-3 overall. Our three losses were all away/neutral site losses to good teams. I'm not saying we are winning the ACC this year, but for those who have already...

    Iowa Game

Yeah, I think you can make that case. However, I also think you can make the case that, given the circumstances, he’s had enough good moments to buy him some time to produce more wins—at least this year, I would say, and maybe the next one. To me, there is truth on both sides, and my point was...

    Iowa Game

Honestly, this was the expected result (of course I was hoping for the upset), but not one that I would look at and say, "FIRE PASTNER!" Here are some random thoughts: What I liked: -The offense. I thought our offense actually looked better in this game, and other than some missed open looks...
