  1. Miami

I assume the OP was referring to GT runs allowed, but at this point, if we can keep the total runs allowed by both teams under 35, I like our chances...
  2. Miami

Probably not many players that walk on to the team and make it, but I do recall a chemical engineer that did it many years ago. He made a nice career for himself. https://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/fl-xpm-1996-02-27-9602260428-story.html
  3. Miami

Reading the D1Baseball Weekend Preview, and the #5 place for the Top 5 places to be this weekend was Russ Chandler Stadium! Their take for the key matchup (I copied and pasted, so mis-spellings are theirs...) Key Matchup: The Tech pitchers vs. themeslves. In their last four games, the Yellow...
  4. Miami

Yes he did. But, I assume Miami's used to that, which is one of many reasons Miami's ranked #3 and is leading the ACC. I'm not used to that.
  5. Miami

Now that's what we need. Having your Friday guy go 6 or more innings opens up the entire bullpen for the rest of the weekend. One of the things we've been missing this year in the ACC, even with our 6-2 ACC record on Friday.
  6. Troy

Our relief pitching??? Have you watched our starting pitchers lately??? Medich's start against Duke excluded.
  7. Duke Series

After reading the last day or two of this thread, looks like some football and basketball people have wandered over here. The most negativity I've seen in a long time, even though we're in good shape if we can WIN THE NEXT SERIES, which is what baseball is all about. Let's Go Jackets!
  8. Duke Series

I agree GT Bravo. I watched that one online, and my primary thought most of the game was "How the **** is anyone supposed to hit that????" From both pitchers.
  9. Development v College Production

I disagree with Danny not building a program after inheriting Jim's team. Yes, Danny lost in the championship game with Morris's players in 1994 (but he coached them there, and if it had been best 2/3 like it is today, I like our chances to win that one!). The core of that team left for pro...
  10. NL EAST 2021

Yeah, I don't see Lindor and Scherzer, among others, as Mets if the Wilponzi's were still writing checks instead of Cohen either. It was interesting to see Juan Soto's younger brother Elian switch his intention to sign with the Mets to the Nationals though. Would he have done that if he knew...
  11. Ever Changing Perspective, Week by week

With that said... Perspective: When you think you're the best team in the ACC, you're NOT! When you think you're the worst team in the ACC, you're NOT! Expectation: I have no idea what to expect for the rest of the season.
  12. Ever Changing Perspective, Week by week

@GTNavyNuke, Is UVA really better than we are? They took their series from us at UVA, but with a lot of help from us. @psjacket, are we really better than VT? Yes, we swept them at home the first ACC series of the year, but it wasn't easy. If I recall we got some breaks. At this point, we...
  13. UNC Series

Great series win. Let's go and get the next one.
  14. Georgia State

McNamee is a transfer from Wake Forest, by the way. Not a returning pitcher as those that I mentioned.
  15. Georgia State

I agree, and expressed my opinion on McNamee in chat during the game. I'm talking about season long, not just tonight.
  16. Georgia State

I don't mind the freshmen pitching, as they've done a great job more often than not and they are our future. I don't get the lack of Bartnicki and Roedig appearances, although Bartnicki has not pitched well and Roedig has had injury issues the last few years. My concern has been the bullpen...
  17. Ever Changing Perspective, Week by week

I would caution you on counting on that @PITT series. They currently are ahead of us in the standings, and we typically don't play well there. I hope this year is different, but the last time I watched us play there it was in the 70's, so the "it's 30 degrees and the team just wants to get out...
  18. 2022 Season

We do have better than 11 seed in the ACC talent. I believe we have top 10 talent in the country. We just need to show it and take care of business. Pitching and defense. Let's go get it!
  19. FSU Series

You can pitch to Parada. You can pitch to anyone. You just need to know their weakness and be able to exploit it. However, there are not a lot of pitchers these days that #1 know the batter's weakness and #2 can execute pitches to exploit said weekness.
  20. FSU Series

I'll answer a question with more questions. Is anyone really "comfortable" with any lead Tech baseball has? If so, what is the run threshold? I must admit, with the 12 run 8th inning against USC Upstate, I finally breathed a sigh of relief and thought "we can't let this one get away, can we?"...
