Collins wants to transition to a spread offense in which the shotgun (or pistol) is used -- no more QB under center except, perhaps, under exceptionally rare conditions. OK, moving to a "gun-triple" would've accomplished that fairly big step immediately, it's hardly "putting back in the offense...

Actually, The Citadel dropped its season opener 21-28 to a now 3-0 Towson squad which is in the Top 10 of the FCS polls, and then the Bulldogs dropped their second game 28-35, on the road, to a now 3-0 Elon team which is sniffing the FCS top 20. Citadel's 0-2 record entering the game was not...

I wish I hadn't been correct. But hey, at least I have the consolation of having had the proper instincts for the game. (Citadel got 300 yards rushing vs Towson to start the season.)

Brown was intelligent enough to grab former Army DC Jay Bateman, who did a grand job with Monken the past five years. If Bateman can't do a good+ job with the Tarheel defense, no one can.
