What I get a kick out of are our fans that hear from their UGAG friends that “we made the right choice” and “we like Key”, etc. They really believe that ugag fans want something good for us!! Like our phrase is THWG. They want us to always be nothing, trust me. They may pretend they want a...
Great post. Pretty much how I feel. It’s great that players love Key, but long term, respect for the HC is most important. He will have to make a lot of tough decisions he’s never had to make. Truthfully, for those of us that believe in prayer, we should be praying for him and his family.
Agreed. I watched every game, as my wife is a Bammer. The reason their D was not as dominant this year as previous years is because they did not have difference makers on the DL. I mean they were better than 97.5% of the other teams in the country, but they were not able to get pressure on QBs...
Like the optimism for the last guy, the salesman?
I have worked in a lot of successful organizations. Special people working harder & smarter breed success, not unwarranted optimism.
I will be cautiously hopeful that Key can get great coaches hired to run the O. That should be his #1a priority...
What you call doom & gloom, I call facts & reality.
You have every right to your optimism. I would defend your right to say what you believe.
I am not as optimistic, & I have every right to communicate my opinion. You have every right to put me on “ignore” or scroll past my entries.
Agreed. My biggest hope is that he can make the hard decisions to let guys go where hiring improvements can be made. When you get to know guys as equals with families, these decisions can be very difficult.
I hope I am wrong.
Key was OL coach & Asst HC for arguably the worst stretch of football in our history. It is hard for me to see him getting past mediocrity, but he is my HC now. I will be rooting for him to prove me wrong like I did his last boss.
I’m not excited about this hire. In my mind, he better get a great OC very fast.
I am rooting for him, but I still don’t see superior HC material with BK.
GT football is in dire straits & old boy network got what they wanted.
PS. Didn’t need to pay a search firm for this hire.
I got a feeling it’s the same group who thought we needed to do what everyone else does, even though the Institute is not like everyone else. The same group that supported the last HC disaster.
I do think our job is a very tough sell. We can’t even sell out a small stadium. We have a semblance of real academics. We don’t have enough wealthy alums who care about football.
I kind of wish CPJ never happened now, because I now believe there is a way to see special years at GT, but our...
I agree. I think there is just too much disagreement in the power group not to screw this up. The power group was happy hiring the cheerleader. Emotion & loyalty (to GT alums) cannot be in the decision process.
