Actually this is brand new.
I thought we were through with TFG but I never dreamed that in his first coaching job after leaving Tech, and dissing Tech, he’d turn right around and play Tech.
You got to admit his ability to create drama lives on long after you think you are through with him...
You nailed it. That’s what did it for me. Just a total lack of class by a head coach that I’ve never seen before at Tech or just about anywhere else at a major program.
Funny thing is, usually you praise your predecessor while being all humble as a way to temper expectations and get the fan...
Just for the fun of it, speculate on this. We have not seen Tech’s entire offensive playbook. Do we see a play we’ve never seen before in this game and, if we do, what is it ?
I’m nervous as a cat with a sore tail in a room full of rockers over this one.
UNC is too poorly coached to win consistently but they’ve got more than enough to talent to put together their best game of the year some time this season. Hope we don’t draw the short straw for the season on this one.
I’ve been feeling kind of bad about coming down so hard on TFG. Every single public comment that I’ve seen he’s attempting to be very conciliatory toward Tech and move on. I don’t want to be unfair to him if he’s turned over a new leaf.
I look forward to seeing how he talks about Tech after...
Perception is also a problem for the players. Do they embrace the apparent lax standards and act accordingly or do they resent the narrative and begin to divide the locker room between “good guys and bad guys?”
Sankey is the perfect “tip of the spear” for SEC interests. When others are going along with plans that work for the SEC he is all reasonable and conciliatory. Who wouldn’t like this guy?
When the SEC isn’t getting exactly what they want he is a feisty pit bull. Who would dare cross this guy?
What makes me so angry is that the lack of institutional control at uga over their football program can only occur to this degree if you’ve made winning $ the goal to the exclusion of every other value.
Exactly.
The press asked (and why wouldn’t they) and he took the bait hook, line and sinker. It is possible to be firm with the press if you don’t want to discuss something, but I think Geoff is always a little flattered when he gets questions about himself. It gives him a chance to talk...
Well, I decided to watch the Geoff Collins pre-Tech game press conference. Here are my takeaways.
Very complimentary of Tech and Tech players. Especially liked calling out players he recruited.
Explained in somewhat technical detail why UNC players were close to making the play when they...
Don’t know if he is still dissing our program or not. I avoid any articles, references to, or social media about him. But before he got his current job he was, shall we say, less than charitable about Tech. I have no doubt about his current feelings toward all things Tech have not changed.
