College Football News predicted we would win 4 games, as I did in the preseason prediction thread, turns out we were too optimistic. As for the accomplishments in all other sports...that is all well and good but I would exchange all of it for a winning season in football. Football is the straw...
I did not realize that the defense had gotten that much worse from a rankings standpoint, but then its the ACC where no one thinks seriously about playing defense except Clemson and sometimes Virginia Tech. IIWII
This captures my thinking. It is Geoff's program. The assistants are his so let him swim or sink with them. He just may decide to let a few go anyway at the end of the year. My Florida friends just about fell down in astonishment when Mullins fired the notorious "3rd and Grantham". They...
FWIW. College Football News analysis of the game goes like this. Tech is last in the ACC in 3rd down conversions but BC only threw for 112 yards last week against Virginia Tech. The name of the BC running back in Pat Garwo and he is a good one. Tech has not had a 200 yard game either...
Good question. I do not know but they will do their best to get him the ball...one way or another. If Tech cannot get at least some pressure on the quarterback it will be a moot point because he will get open.
Just looking at their game last week against Virginia Tech leads me to think this is a game we can win. A lot depends upon Jurkovich (spelling?) and his road to recovery. His leadership and intangibles are undeniable but he simply does not look like the same quarterback passing the ball. They...
Hendon Hooker has made two offensive coordinators look like geniuses. I can't believe Tennessee actually started the other guy, (whose name I cannot recall) with Hooker on the bench and ready to go.
The point is, as far as I can determine, that depending on the transfer portal to pull one's chestnuts out of the fire is a recipe for disappointment. Most of them do not meet the expectations of moving the needle. There are always reasons for players wanting to transfer that may not be...
"...we did have some alums who attempted to kill the program by sending a negative letter to our recruits." Strange are the ways of college alumni at times.
I agree with this but understand the frustrations of others with the coordinators. My argument is that this is Coach Collins' program, he is being paid big money to run it....so let him run it for better or worse. IIWII
Coach Collins' main problem is that he does not have the money nor the scruples to stoop to openly paying players like Alabama, UGA, Auburn, Clemson et.al.
If the quarterback is a bit off like he was last week, we might be able to do so by following Red's formula stack the box and dance with the receivers man up. Flowers is the one to watch as he is blink quick.
Yes, that is what I am thinking but he is NOTHING like he was last year going by the game with Virginia Tech. Utterly fearless, I will give him that and he is the straw that stirs the drink with that team.
You went to UGA? Pray, how did you manage to become a Tech fan? I went to LaGrange College but grew up a Tech fan as my father "got out" in 1950 with a BS in Textile Engineering.
