Soooo you think all those things don't apply to Auburn and Tennessee? They most certainly do. Where do you think the misfit mutts end up after getting dismissed? Give it a few years of playing these teams, especially Tennessee, and you'll be hating them about as much.
But you were so sure they played 8 home games lol So they're supposed to turn down invites to kick-off games with tons of media exposure so they can go play at South Florida, Oregon State, Virginia, or Maryland?
And several of them do play 5 or 6 road games. UGA just did in 2017 going to Notre...
Really? You looked at their schedules and saw 8 home games for all those teams? You realize the spring game is a scrimmage and would naturally be played in their home stadium because they're playing themselves?
I'll use Alabama as an example:
2018 Alabama football schedule
1 Louisville @...
Tech only has 6 home games because 2 of the 4 OOC games are away (@S Florida and rotating into Athens this year), so the 2 OOC games plus 4 conference games (8 conference games total, just like the SEC. PAC, XII, and B10 all play 9 conference games).
Not sure where you got 8 home games for...
I don't think the suggestion comes from thinking Tech is weak, but rather dropping one of the other three FCS/Go5 teams could remove a home game from the schedule. By removing, say Austin Peavy, and adding an away game to the likes of Notre Dame/Clemson/Ohio State, etc or even a neutral site...
Don't recall them bending themselves at all. Seemed like a pretty smooth process to me. And it seems like the two best teams played for the natty. Goal acheived.
Several different teams aside from the playoff teams had an argument (Ohio State, Wisconsin, USC). It'd make for a pretty boring season and weak playoff field if that weren't the case. But that's what makes the current set up entertaining. The playoffs are for elite teams, not very good teams...
I respect that and still stand by my opinion that UCF wasn't playoff worthy. Whatever the reason may be, they didn't have the schedule needed to get in.
That's up to the AD of the schools to fix. However, most of them aren't going to schedule a home-and-home or neutral site game with a another P5 team and then do the same with a Go5 team like UCF, South Florida, or Memphis that will also likely demand a home-and-home set up. That's giving up too...
It would be enjoyable to watch, but I think it would require removing a game from the regular season. And as I said, 11-16 probably have no business being in a national title discussion. If a team wants in that bad then they should just schedule a good OOC opponent, win their CCG, and finish...
They chose Stansbury because they needed a guy who would never need to recuse himself.
In other news, expanding to a 16 team playoff is way too many. 8 is arguable, but if you finished the regular season ranked outside the top ten then you have no business playing for a natty. I like it at 4 as...
