I remember him from his days at Southwest DeKalb HS. Wish we could have recruited him harder however we put more effort into Tony Parker of Miller Grove.
All the best to Beau. Thank you for your contributions to the football team. We look forward to the day when we can call him a fellow alum. Your GT degree will take you far in life.
Same games came to my mind. Not sure how many of our future opponents will have the same type of physicality on defense so hopefully we will be OK the rest of the season. Though late, we did find out the pass to the B back in the flat is available so that could keep teams guessing.
Because of my natural curiosity, I wanted to research this to learn more about Fielding Yost. He had an impressive career while at Michigan. It also opened my eyes to an unfortunate incident between Michigan involving GT and Willis Ward. I recognize it was more a reflection of the times...
Tech's blocking in 2014 was led by an All-ACC tackle who was a relative midget. Shaq Mason is 6'1" tall.
So they got the position wrong on this. It still is a pretty good article.
That was the game where students/fans threw fish at the Notre Dame bench. I'll never forget the picture with Dan Devine covering up from that in the Sunday paper. Not our best moment but a memorable one.
I wouldn't be surprised if Jordan decided to concentrate on being the best A Back he can be going forward and see what becomes of that. That decision turned out OK for another former quarterback who was one of our leading rushers last season. I think we have a good pipeline with respect to QBs.
Agreed! This not just good news for the football team but GREAT news for Jabari. I don't know what the future holds for him in the NFL but getting a GT degree will definitely provide a pathway to lifelong success, as long as you continue to put in the same effort.
I based that on the fact that many of the rules and regulations put in place over the years were to address known problems in the game. For instance, why do you think limits exist on the kinds of jobs athletes can have in the offseason? I knew of many that had 'made up' jobs, working for a...
I agree it was a different game, especially prior to the black athlete playing for major colleges however I disagree regarding with your comment regarding that era not have problems with illegal/ineligible players and under the table payments. Remember they did not have social media back then.
I remember the 78 game with Notre Dame when fish was thrown on the field. I still remember a picture in the AJC with Dan Devine's look of frustration at the fans.
What does this mean regarding the scholarship we were holding for Jaylen Brown? Could this imply that a current player may be leaving thus freeing up a scholarship?
@Old South Stands, great points however I believe you should also add speed as an attribute that has also changed. When you consider larger bodies colliding at the speeds they do now, I'm not surprised by some of the injuries we see today.
I would think that coaches will ask the prospect if they are comfortable with committing by the early signing period. If they are not, the coach may ask the prospect to wait until they are ready to commit, given the expectation is no more OVs after committing.
