If the target is 6 more wins, the cleanest route is a sweep of Miami and 1-2 vs Duke, FSU, and Clemson. I like us to get to .500 or better, but sweeps are hard. I'm picking two here, and we show out against Duke.

Fair. I don't have an issue with RPI as a tool. I have an issue with how much weight it holds.

I don't mind RPI, as long as it's taken for what it is. Effectively a strength of schedule, but with extra steps. My problem is the committee/media seem to lean on it as the holy grail come selection time. It's one tool (of many) to evaluate the many teams that don't play each other.

With this team, I like our odds in a shootout more than a pitchers duel. If I game is 10-10 in the 8th, I feel ok. 1-1 in the 8th, less so.

This whole season has been full of swings. I think this team played a red-hot offense in VT, Saturday's game now withstanding. They weathered the storm well. If we can keep pace and avoid the sweep in C'ville, good. If we win the series, even better.

I'd argue that the status of the program when you took over only matters for so long. After 30 years, results are 100% his own, and the how the program was in 1994 doesn't really matter anymore.

I agree with you, but this is the first ACC series for us that wasn't a sweep.
