Someone help me. Why did Kuchar refuse to finish on Sunday from the left rough needing only an approach shot and putts to do so? His playing partners finished. Kuch was having a bad day. He was not going to make the playoffs. This after hitting his tee shot into the group ahead. The only thing that I can think of is that he decided to withdraw. He doesn't need the money. Otherwise, why drag folks back out early on Monday morning?

He was eligible for a drop, but would have taken 10-15 minutes to sort out and if Rai hadn’t made that birdie putt on 18, Greyserman could still birdie 18 to get into a playoff. So by dropping out he gave Greyserman an option to either finish quickly or wait until next day, in pursuit of a playoff spot.

Kuch had no chance at the playoffs, but wants to make sure he finishes in top 125 for the season to protect his card (although he would get into a lot of tournaments regardless, but at age 46 keeping the tour card is not routine anymore).

He rushed to hit a tee shot on 18, probably a mistake other than (my understanding is) someone in the group needed to hit to make sure the group could at least have the option of playing 18. I don’t think they had any clue Rai was out there and nobody working the tournament stopped him.

Important to understand it’s way, way, way darker than it looks on tv. It was dark, as in nighttime dark. The tv cameras compensate tremendously. A lot of idiots imo complaining about it costing something to carry over to Monday, whatever. It looks bad and Kuch still suffering from bad PR of Mexican substitute caddy payment debacle.

I think that’s it, but anyone welcome to correct whatever I’m missing.
