We should only play conference schedules

No championships. No bowl games. Just let the games be games.

Some random guy brought that up this weekend at a disc golf course in Ohio.

I think it’s a pretty good idea. Would we then have to travel to UGA the next year? Or game is canceled and they come here the next year?

Just trying to stir the pot. Obvi...it’s all speculation

I think we are expected to play the whole season now. A lot of states are easing restrictions. New York is now allow pro sports to resume practice with measures.

We may not get them with fans, but sports will more than likely be played and televised. A soccer league in Europe is playing now with added crowd noise. Hardly notice a difference until the camera shows the stands.

I'd rather have Con games if that's what the NCAAHOLES wanna give us... as for the Georgie game, well I'd rather not. Atleast for the next 2 years lol

If there are no conference championship games, then why would it matter if the games played are conference games or not? I understand that it is just wild pondering, but I don't understand why: if the games are just games and don't matter for anything bigger, why would you have to play only conference games?

If we can play 8, we should be able to play 12. I wouldn't want to ask the kids to play with no possibility of winning a championship or bowl game.
This is true. I’m sure the seniors would want something to play for.

I have also wondered how they would handle seniors if they don’t play this year. Especially the teams that opt not to play i.e. California. Could/would they give another year of eligibility?

Got to have the championship games and the final 4 for the money. Just playing 8 or 9 games wont pay the bills.

  1. It'll be nice when we start beating clemp and georgie again on a regular basis
“Regularly” is probably still at least a couple of years away, if it’s even possible at all at this point in the college athletics life cycle. Occasionally is probably more like it.

Tech hasn’t beat Georgia regularly since the 50s, which is the last decade Tech had a winning record vs. the Dwags. Also haven’t beat Clemson regularly since the 60s, which is also the last decade Tech had a winning record vs. the foe. Although, there are a few decades in there when the game wasn’t annual. The 90s weren’t terrible, as Tech went 5-5 vs. Clemp and 3-7 vs UGA. But since Dabo took over Clemp in 2008, Tech is 3-9 vs. UGA and 4-8 vs. Clemson. If can get to a point where we’re going 4-6 vs. both of them every 10 years that would be very impressive given where things currently stand.

Oct. 18, 2008 Georgia Tech, 21-17 Clemson, S.C.
Sept. 29, 2007 Georgia Tech, 13-3 Atlanta, Ga.
Oct. 21, 2006 Clemson, 31-7 Clemson, S.C.
Oct. 29, 2005 Georgia Tech, 10-9 Atlanta, Ga.
Sept. 11, 2004 Georgia Tech, 28-24 Clemson, S.C.

Sept. 29, 2001 Clemson, 47-44 Atlanta, Ga.
Oct. 28, 2000 Georgia Tech, 31-28 Clemson, S.C.
