Does anyone know how the women's basketball team did in their scrimmage last night? Curious if anyone was able to attend and is willing to share their thought on the team and some of the individual players. In particular the newcomers but also our returning post players.

I attended. I am far from a basketball scout so take this at face value and also remember that Anderson is D2 and looked D2 - short, slow, sloppy and no playmakers who really punched above their billing.

Starting lineup was Morgan, Dunn, Noguero, Zoe Smith, and Termis. Zoe Smith had a dominant 1st quarter scoring 10 points. Tianna Thompson had a great game off the bench and looks ready to make the biggest immediate impact of any freshmen. I was impressed by Termis - she just looked more physical, confident, and decisive and she also made a couple 3s. But again, she was playing against talent way beneath her so I'd withhold judgment a little bit. Defensively, they looked good on the boards and jumping passing lanes but I'm not sure how much the opponent (28 turnovers) had to do with that. They will be a little undersized and guard heavy as you probably anticipated. I thought Kayla Blackshear was not as imposing as I've seen her last season when it felt like you could really tell when she wasn't on the court, but it could have just been an off night.
