Ted plays a very pro style Cover 3 /cover 4 scheme. Keep it in front of you blitz int he red zone force turnovers or fieldgoals. Its basically the same defensive mindset the NFL has used for 20 years. The issue is unlike the NFL which cannot run a lot o the risky stuff that beats this type of stuff the college game can. THis may actually start to change with NIL. A 1 million dollar a year QB like Ewers for instance can't be in a Zone read scheme and risk injury its to expensive. Over the next 10 years if it stays liek ti is the QB run offenses are going to go away for the most part from probably the top 60 schools. Pretty much everyone is going to run a variation of the chief's offense. This is also going to be necessary because the transfer portal will mean that what's changing is terminology not what you are doing. I hate it but it very much is what is going to happen. Ironically CFB is going to probably shift back towards power running if you don't have an all world field general. The Fullback will probably make a comeback. In doing so the defenses will shift to more LB's on the field then you'll see people start incorporating options, and finally we will start spreading things out. A cycle if you will.
