New study from the Univ of Pennsylvania looking at graduation rates of African American student athletes vs all student athletes, all African American students, all stiudents.

GT is one of the few schools that does pretty well overall on all those comparisons (FWIW, the SEC is awful).

Here is the article that brought the study to my attention

Here's the actual study results

Interesting report. I wonder what it cost to put together and what's it's real purpose is?

The author takes a run at duke in his commentary by calling them out as having an 11% gap between black athletes and all students. What's interesting is duke graduates black athletes at the 4th highest rate of any power 5 school (Tech is 6th). The author cited them as bad actors? I'm confused.

On a side note, if the data is accurate, the average power 5 basketball coach earned $2.88M last year. We sure brought that average down...

... curious that if I'm black and live in France, China, England, Brasil, Egypt, Canada etc. am I still African American? Or, does my race only change if in the United State of America?
