Too many teams, not enough seats at the B1G bowl table?
With the 2014 regular season in the books, and with invitations set to be handed out this weekend, the Big Ten has 10 of 14 teams eligible for a bowl game. The problem? There might only be nine slots available for teams from that league.
For those fans of teams that might be denied a bowl berth, you should be jumping around this weekend for one team in particular. If No. 13 Wisconsin beats No. 5 Ohio State in the Big Ten championship game, the conference could very well find itself with three teams playing in New Year’s Eve/Day bowl games. Such a scenario would create a postseason spot for all of the league’s bowl-eligible teams.
