While I feel bad for North Carolina, I think they are overplaying their hand on injuries. Imagine if we lost for the year people like Steve Dolphus, Cheyenne Hunt, Antonio Messick, Mike Minihan, etc. That would SUCK right? But see what's going on here? The vast majority of the players that are listed as out for the season are Freshman new on campus or older folks that don't play. Here is the detail of those players: Austin Proehl, Wide Receiver Tyler Powell, Defensive End Carl Tucker, Tight End Andre Smith, Linebacker From what I can tell looking up stats, these are the guys they have lost who garnered significant playing time. Here are the rest: Rontavious "Toe" Groves, Wide Receiver - Freshman Antwuan Branch, Running Back - Freshman Jesse Cuccia, Safety - former lacross player, has never played Luke Elder, Offensive Guard - Freshman DJ Ford, Safety - Freshman Thomas Jackson, Wide Receiver - walk on Jacob Schmidt, Running Back - walk on, has never played William Sweet, Offensive Tackle - has never played Noah Turner, Tight End - Freshman I certainly feel bad for them and I don't wish injuries on anybody. But I think they are overplaying their hand. Furthermore, these injuries are across a variety of positions. If they are playing anybody outside of the 2-Deep, its for other reasons.
