There were definitely two balls that may have been double plays if we weren't in the shift. However, the shift has also enabled us to make quite a few plays this season.I think Schmidt's play that you were talking about was more on Tate being a little slow off the mound. Tate needed to be there for the toss, but Schmidt realized it was gonna be too close and thought his better chance at getting the out was to try to beat the runner to the bag himself.I was only halfway paying attention for a few of the middle innings though while I was putting my toddler down, so maybe I missed something.</blockquote>
