If he was paid, I suspect (but don't know, obviously) it would matter. Since the ad depicts him wearing his football uniform and shows him playing football, I would think receiving money as a paid endorsement for being a football player might be just enough in the NCAA's Draconian policies to make him lose his amateur status.

However, I'm like you...I highly doubt he received any type of pay for doing the commercial.
