We did that to ourselves by a combination of feeling like we had to switch things up to keep them honest (why? our OL is big and again, make them stop us first) and weird substitution and non-substitution. On offense we came out and looked ready to run it down their throats and it was working. Until we stopped doing it.</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ol">No pressure on the opposing QB. Of course they really didn't try to throw the ball an awful lot and for a good portion of the game we played decent defense. I think if our offense had had the success rate that our defense did we'd have won the game going away. So I'm not blaming the defense for the loss. But with the improved talent overall I expected a little better than what we saw. Not a lot. I understand that there's a lot of new blood and young blood at the rush positions but I was hoping for at least a little indication of positive change. I'm not as down on our DC as our OC but we still have a ways to go.</li> </ol><p>On the plus side we did cut down on penalties.</p></blockquote><p></p>
