We've reached that time of the year when the term "meaningful games" becomes more prolific.
The implication is there is a binary thing here. There are meaningful college football games & games that mean nothing or essentially nothing.
This is an unfortunate byproduct of a good thing ... the CFB playoff era (4 & 12 team formats). Another (related) thing is the notion that bowl games don't matter "like they once did"
All the things can be true. The playoffs are good, fun, & compelling. Games not involving potential playoff contenders are meaningful in a lot of different ways. Bowl games a awesome!
