Saw on ESPN that he resigned as UCF’s head coach and is expecting to go to FSU, where he would take over play-calling.

Seems like one of the best moves FSU could make on offense, and will probably help them with recruiting and the portal. He’s a good offensive coach, it definitely brings more coaching talent into the conference.

FSU lost to Florida by 20 yesterday. They went 2-10 on the year. Malzahn is not known as a recruiter—Auburn fired him for that. Malzahn has a run heavy offense where the QB runs a lot.

The ESPN article implies that Norvell’s passing stats will get added to Malzahn’s running stats. I don’t think that’s how it will work—either FSU is getting Malzahn’s offense, or this hire makes no sense. It’s kind of like hiring CPJ to be your OC—you’re getting an opinionated but controversial offense.

Look for a dual threat QB. They have a 13-player class right now, heavy on the OL, with one 5* OL.

With today's free agency, it might not take long. They just have to be better at player scouting.
I thought that too until I saw that all the money in the world will only get you two victories if the program is rotten at the core. They get to start over next year and try again, so we’ll see.

I realize their program is pretty "rotten" as you say, but the problem was they signed guys (who although they came out of high school with big recruiting rankings) were not very good, and the teams they left were probably happy about it. Ohio State and Ole Miss do a pretty good job of signing guys teams don't want to lose; that is what FSU needs to do. But, hopefully free shoes will continue to suffer for years to come. :D
