Remember we are program that had Calvin Johnson on the roster and our coach didn’t use him (see Wake). We had back to back coaches who were about as charismatic as a 2x4 and we wonder why 14-18 year old males are drawn to other programs. We finally have a coach who pumps up GT and some want to make fun of him. The dude got Jamious Griffin before he had a staff. He got Gibbs who is clearly our best player in a decade after a 3-8 season. He got an Elite 11 QB. Give him time and he will win a lot of games. If Collins had a Calvin Johnson he’d be targeted about 50 times a game. His use of Gibbs after 2 games is already better than any player usage our last 2 coaches had. High level recruits see this and are buying in. But you gotta give him more than a class and a half.
Exactly. All GT fans will benefit from Collins 2-3 years of brand building when we get high level players to sign here. You think Gibbs signs here if he didn’t buy into Collins marketing? This is all about changing the last 20 year perception of GT football for kids who are 12-18 years old.
