what is a good benchmark for a ERA for a college pitcher? Additionally, is college baseball talent on the level of single A minor league baseball? Double AA? Or something else?
When I watched, played and followed baseball an era of 3 was sort of the norm. I looked up some data from from various single A and AA leagues in minor league baseball...I see numbers in the 2 to 5 range consistently.
I have read here (iirc) where our league ERA is 8 or near that number?? Is that correct? In your opinion, how much does the aluminum bat affect this number? And. if aluminum bats contribute to more offense, what is a reasonable team ERA goal for our staff?. as always, appreciate the feedback and discussion.
