Yeah, I'd be mildly surprised if Philo doesn't see the field some in Birmingham. Like you said, as a change-up, and also to get a little more experience under his belt.I think we’ll use him on a couple of series as a change-up for Vandy’s defense to account for and to help get Aaron more experience for next season.
FYI: Playing in the bowl game would not count against Philo in regards to red-shirting.
Not to be picky, but King already got his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M before he ever came to GT. I have NO idea how the academics play into his career, but he does have another season of NCAA eligibility…which is what you’re referring to.We're going to have one of these threads every game until King graduates, aren't we?
Maybe not just coach speak - maybe Key wants to treat bowl games as a reward for a good season. Dodd had a lot of success with that approach.I believe that I heard Key say in one of his interviews last week that he wants to play a lot of guys, everyone has been working hard in practice so he wants to let them have some time. Now that may be coach speak but it makes sense ...it is a bowl game
