You're going to get a tough team, built from the offense/defensive line play, and high level QB play. BOB is VERY good at developing talent. QBs and skill positions will line up to play for him because he has a track record of developing talent and sending them to the NFL at Penn State and 'Bama...oh, and he coached in the NFL which has cache with recruits. If anyone thinks BOB is wasting talent at 'Bama, then you are not paying attention. BOB is doing a great job at 'Bama. Ask Texas/TX A&M/Miami/FSU/etc about talent and wasting it. This is an option rushing attack with a high level passing game? That's a unicorn in the modern era. Of the 3 guys I've named here, Chadwell is IMO the guy with the highest ceiling. If Chadwell was on deck ready to sign, and our old boys club muddied up the water to get their way, well...GT fans can have fun watching Chadwell coach at another P5 school and seeing them destroy other schools. [QUOTE="Techster, post: 917582, member: 360"] Few things here: 1. Bill O'Brien (BOB) is a VERY good coach. Imagine being a GT fan and turning your nose up on a coach of BOB's caliber. If you want Key, BOB is a much better version of what we would get with Key. If all it took was talent, then those schools would be a top 5-10 school every year. They certainly are not. 2. I'm fine with key. I've always said that Key should be considered if he met certain standards. However, if Key is getting the job because the old boys club are pitching a fit they're not getting their way, well GT deserves whatever is coming. Good or bad. HOWEVER, I'm going to look on the bright side. It's possible that the old boys club made a deal with Batt: We keep Key on as HFC, the old boys club puts up money for a really good staff to support Key, they throw in a big NIL pot ($8+ million), AND they're on the hook for a big portion of the buyout if Key doesn't work out. I can live with that, and honestly, GT can't really turn that down. I like Key, I think Key can be another O'Leary type coach for us. However, what's his ceiling? What he decides to do with the offensive side of the ball and ability to retain Thacker will go a long way in determining the future of GT football. 3. Jamie Chadwell. I make no bones about it, he's been my #1 choice since Collins was escorted to his car with a $11 million going away check. I think his offense is a game changer for a school like GT, and his offensive mind is on the level of a Friedgen/Paul Johnson/Lincoln Riley/Leach.
