Now 5-0 with a pretty dominating 3-0 showing against FIU. Louisville just lost on 4 sets to Ohio State (who was winless going into the match but have a lot of talent). We get both Ohio State and BYU (who lost last night to Pitt but were ranked #10) coming to O'Keefe next week so we should get a real test and see how good we really are. Today was a chance to see some of the quality depth coach has amassed as we didn't see much of a drop off when the subs came in. I have been pleasantly surprised with the high level of talent of Otene who transferred in and has replaced Brambilla in the lineup. We miss McKissic as our setter but the combo of Damico and Drewnick who are both 6' or taller has really added more height to the lineup. Otene is really shown herself to be a power hitter who can also finish from the back line. Finally, Bertolino has really added a lot more power to her game and, like all the other South Americans recruited to play for Coach Collier, she is an excellent defensive player who leads the team in digs. Since the first match against Ole Miss where Bergman dominated the team has shown much more versatility and depth in their attack which bodes well when we get into league play.
