Has GT and UGA ever played each other when both teams were undefeated? That is, has "Clean Old Fashioned Hate" ever been between two undefeated teams?

Depends on what you are asking. In 1893, 1897, and 1900 they opened against each other, so were undefeated.

But you are probably asking about at the end of the season. The closest towards the end of a season that I see are: 1927, 7-1-1 GT beat the 9-0 mutts. 1942, 9-0 GT lost to 9-1 mutts. 1946 8-1 GT lost to 9-1 mutts.

1966 9-0 Tech lost to 9-1 Ga….broke my little childhood heart.

1927 Mutts were dubbed the "dream and wonder team" going into that game against Tech. Don't know why but that is what they were called unless it was because they beat Yale which was the best team in the East at the time and that was the section of the country with the best football. Tech upset them that year. 1942 Georgia had a great team with Frank Sincwich and again in 1946 with Rauch and Trippi. Even with great players like that both of those teams lost a game which underscores just how hard it is to be "up" for every game.

Iirc,
Right in front of student they got a key first down towards end of game. During the very very close measurement the chain broke. Ref put a big wad of chain in his hand and wa.la = first down. Serious screaming from rat section.
What year are we talking about? Maybe I missed a few comments in the thread but I thought we were talking 1966 when the game was in Athens. Did rats travel in sections?

I think it was 65 when i was a freshman. IIRC, the chain broke on the in another game too. But that one could have been in Clemson 66.
I am sure we never beat ga while i was there. In last game the ga tackler intentionally hit Larry Good in injured knee - lost by 47-8 = no class. That was 68 season and i moved to Texas
