Nice article on Matthew Grimes: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/...seasons-in-all-the-minors-20160630-story.html

"Perhaps the biggest aspect of Grimes’ spike in performance is his health. He started as a freshman at Georgia Tech, but missed part of his sophomore season and all of his junior season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He returned to join the rotation as a senior, but still wasn’t where he wanted to be. Grimes spent last year at Class-A Delmarva with a 4.14 ERA, but doesn’t have anything holding him back now. "

Here are his stats: http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/profile.asp?P=matthew-grimes

Looking forward to him making some MLB roster in the future ..... the article said he may be getting traded.

Another Grimes article from someone Grimes lived with .... he's been moved up to AA ball. https://thebaltimorewire.com/2016/07/04/baltimore-orioles-matthew-grimes-moving-on-up/

This typifies what I think about the minor leagues and moving up to the MLB: "Grimes is not listed among the top 30 Orioles prospects in Baseball America. Though there are more than a few MLB players who have been 18th-round or later draftees, guys after the opening rounds have to prove that they can do it, while those at the top have to prove that they can’t."

This makes sense since the MLB spends a lot of bonus money on the top round picks and don't want to be wrong. I like rooting for the underdog who works really hard. Let's hope we see Matthew in the MLB!

BTW, thanks to modern technology (tic), the link from the first post for BaseballCube is updated daily ....... and has Grimes AA numbers already.
