I believe we tried before we hired BG, I don't think we had enough $$ to give him. Same thing with the coach from Richmond, we are financially hooked.

Allegedly he has a huge ego/attitude problem. Wants to be at a place where the bball coach is treated like a king (over football) which won't happen at most major schools. Commands a big salary (rightfully so IMO). Both his home state schools (Clem and SC) wanted him to some degree but couldn't reach his demands.

These are all alleged rumors so TIFWIW.

Despite all that, I really like him and think he'd do well here (on court anyway).
