"A statue of liberty play or a single wing dive play would be nice;)" Actually, one feature of the single-wing offense I, as a mere fan, would love to see used is the old buck-lateral play, "buck" being the old term for "dive" today. In the buck-lateral, the running back with the ball plunges into the line, but immediately beforehand laterals or hands the ball to another offensive back. (Of course, single-wing attacks had the center direct-snapping to a running back, but the buck-lateral tactic certainly could be modified for a QB-under-center formation.) I'm no coach or former player, but to this football layperson, it seems to me that using a buck-lateral at least once or twice a game, establishing it as a threat, might cool the heels of aggressive defenses just a little bit.
