[QUOTE="Milwaukee, post: 178494, member: 1428"] Spot on analysis, but the fact that those 4 bases they threw at us each included either 8 or 9 in the box blows my mind. I agree with you completely when you say we didn't get dominated and manhandled up front. We were outnumbered, period. Another poster mentioned in another thread about the lack of a passing concept with PJ yesterday, and I agree. A quick slant or even stop routes at the sticks would combat all of those stacked bases. It doesn't help when JT couldn't hit the broadside of a barn yesterday, and he would probably admit as much. He performed poorly in the passing game, but he'll be much better going forward as usual. He wasn't exactly put into good passing plays yesterday - I thought the play calling was absolutely terrible. Long story short, Notre Dame stacked the box and we couldn't make them pay through the air. Plain and simple. The fact that they used different fronts all day has everyone thinking they used some sort of magic potion, when in reality they played a 9 man scheme and left their corners on islands all afternoon.
