I think our Alcorn St and Tulane games helped pts for. They should only use pwr 5 games.

Keep in mind we are not the only team that plays cupcakes (and with us having UGA as a yearly OOC rival, we tend to have one of the stronger OOC schedules year in and year out). If you take away our blowout of lesser teams, you have to do the same for everyone else, which on average puts things right back where they were.

Great, so with a -2.49 Adjusted Difference, we "should" have won 5.49 games.

I always look at one possession games. We were 1-6 in 1 possession games last year. Had we gone 4-3 we'd have finished at 6-6. Considering how bad the injury bug hit us last year, I think we would have all been happy with 6-6. Interestingly enough, the last time we had a winning record in 1 possession games was back in 2011, when we went 3-2 i tnose games and finished 8-5 overall. We are currently 19-18 overall under CPJ, so these things do tend to even out.

. . . "happy with 6-6." Look at yourself.

Yeah. I probably didn't phrase that well. What I meant was, there was a point last season where I know I would have considered 6-6 an unmitigated success. Last year, we had walk-ons getting substantial playing time due to injuries. We lost so many close games, it felt like we couldn't catch a break. (Except for the FSU game) At the point where we were 3-5, I would have been elated had we gotten to 6-6. And that's where I tend to focus. We played a top ten schedule in a season where we had the worst injury attrition that I remember, and immediately following the departure of most of our offensive skill position starters. I was as guilty as anyone of chugging the 2014 Kool Ade, but in retrospect, I can honestly say we were a mediocre team last year. We weren't as bad as our 3-9 record would indicate, which is why articles like the one posted see us primed to make drastic gains this year. We also weren't in any real danger of competing for championships last year, even had we won a substantial portion of those games. So overall, maybe happy was a poor turn of phrase, but I think I can safely say that most fans would have been satisfied with 6-6 at the end of last season, considering the unusual amount of injuries that dogged us throughout the 2015 campaign.

Also, as for the close games record. Our two best years under CPJ were 2008 & 2009, where we went 5-2 and 5-1 respectively. Had we won only half our close games, we would have been 8-5 and 9-5, vs 9-4 & 11-3. In 2014, our 11-3 would stand, as we finished exactly 3-3 in close games. That's why I think 2014 was the best team we have had under CPJ.
