@Techster I know some people are more literal than others but the dissention on the board stems from comments like: A. We’re now going to start trying to be successful as if there were efforts not to be in the past. B. I’m not going to start supporting the program again as if some stopped rooting for the team. C. We’re going to start getting 5* athletes here again. The “again” is historically incorrect. The rest of the sentence is a great goal. D. We don’t need to improve staff, facilities, etc because it is already top notch and all we need is a new coach. Just isn’t the case. E. We’re the same academically as other places. Some point out 1 example as evidence that we’re doing everything shady on the same scale as every other program. Again, just isn’t the case. F. Our players suck & we should process them out and replace them with others. This just isn’t who GT is nor is it accurate in most of the atlhetes cases. This is the last post I’m going to make on this. We have a new coach. The old coach’s record at GT will not change from what it is. We need to support our current program. We already have other schools working against us, we don’t need to work against ourselves. We want to change the narrative, but we’ve suffered through a decade of a large part of our own fanbase supporting/promoting a negative narrative. I hope everyone gets that, because some believe you can flip a fan switch as soon as they get what they think they want. Those that withdrew support will withdraw support in the future. Just wait until we hit a multi-year rough patch. They’ll show their true colors and they’re not white & gold. It’s sad the new coach has to overcome a fanbase at odds with itself. Unbelievably it’s those that apparently got what they want that are the most divisive. We appear to be hiring a staff with great potential. Everyone that is now back on the bus needs to put their money where their mouth is.
