Okay, so the following stats require a little explanation. The PPD vs Pwr5, offense and defense are pwr 5 games through the previous week (Oct 17). The Rankings only include teams who had played more than 2 Pwr5 opponents. The yards/play, offense and defense, are pwr 5 games through this week (Oct 24), and the rankings include all teams who have played at least 1 pwr 5 opponent. Let's look at the offense first: A few things jump out for me here: (1) Duke, smh; (2) FSU was statistically comparable to CU (though sched strength?); (3) UVA and VPI are a tier below where most of what we've played has been at. Hopefully, our D can build consistency and confidence against them. If we can keep improving from vs FSU, watch out! Now, let's look at the defense: Okay, so the first thing that jumps out here is the strength of the opposition D that we've faced, esp PPDvPwr5. Every team has been top 20 in that category. Our next three opponents break that trend. As many have said, the ability of our Off to move the ball, even when we didn't score helped our D. Hopefully, we'll be able to score as well against these opponents. Again, it looks like our O should be able to build some confidence and consistency. Match that with an improving Defense, and we could have a special last game.
