Apologies for this kind of topic during a week of preparation for FSU, but I'm trying to pass the time any way I can.

Who will be in the a back rotation next year? I figured we would definitely have Andrews and Snoddy as starters, but not too sure after that. Anyone have a good idea of the redshirting freshmen that figure to get lots of playing time? How about incoming freshmen that might avoid a redshirt?

My opinion: Willis, a strong walkon with size and speed, has been in the system 3 years and will likely see PT. In limited action he has looked capable. Lynch RS in 2014 is unknown to us but was recruited as an AB with known speed and pass catching skills. We do not know how he runs or blocks but by now the coaches do after a year on the scout team. A couple of the true freshmen will probably have to play, likely Cottrell and maybe Jarrett. Searcy is an outside candidate as well as are the Austin twins if the freshmen are not ready. There is plenty of talent to chose from, just a lack of experience. This is not a team weakness IMO.

Willis be factor, going to be a key blocker.

One of the Austin twins will move over IMO....and Searcy COULD.

Then we have Jarrett, Cottrell, Benson and Marshall who will fight it out in Fall camp.

Any ifo on how Lynch is progressing? Is McClellan in the picture?

I could see Searcy or an Austin moving to AB for the Spring as we are short in numbers, but in the long run IMO the freshmen talent will occupy the AB spots behind Snoody, Andrews, and Willis, particularly if Lynch is a factor. If I were coach I would move Lance for the Spring as Lawerence seems to be more involved in the D. IMO Its time to put Searcy in a permanent home.

Those guys would have done better with a QB like justin
This year we have two deep as 5th year ab.t
In past years we had easy time against Elon and not so much against big 4.
It's saying something that with fruit basket trun over at ab we are this's optimistic about the younger ab.
I think we could be in top tier of college football for years - nervous about recievers

Great post! Our offensive system has become 'Next Man Up'. I see no reason for this not to continue.

I'd like to keep Searcy on defense if possible...though it may not be possible given the numbers situation. Hopefully the coaches find a way to keep him on defense...he could be special on that side.

I agree, but I do think that a) one or more of the frosh play and b) we rotate ABs less and WRs more to get the plays in. This is stuff that experienced numbers seem to dictate.

Not to derail the thread, but what will the B-back position look like? I don't have much hope for Custis to ever play at Tech.

Any insider knowledge on what weight Leggett will play at next year (i.e. How is he doing in weight room?). I watched some of his high school and he looks to have solid vision, lateral quickness, and power. However he looked a little slow compared to Laskey and Days at the top end, which concerns me, especially since neither of them are burners.

I imagine all of the backups will get some valuable time in during bowl practice. The only things I worry about with youth are fumbles and missed blocks.

Go watch his film and tell me I am wrong. I want to be wrong. :). But while he looks good doing everything from the snap to 25 yards past the line of scrimmage, he just never pulls away and seems to routinely get run down by high school players. Granted it isn't crappy schools he is playing, but I am used to the division I talent not only outrunning most people, but out running angles. Maybe those defenders are really fast????
