The Heisman Trophy is the most prestigious award in college football and it takes a lot for a player to even be considered among the final group for the trophy.

Posted this link in another thread, but after the announcement that King and Philo are coming back, folks on Reddit are also calling us a dark horse playoff candidate.



While I heartily agree, we have a tendency to buy into the hype every time people start looking at us and realizing we're actually pretty good. Then we go and drop 3 games against teams we should have beaten. Then knockoff another playoff team. As CBK has said, the next step is learning to win with consistency. I'm hopeful Key's toughness and lunchpail approach keeps us from falling into believing the hype. I'm confident it will at some point - the question is whether this is the year. Super hopeful we prove all these predictions right, and more, next season.

Depending on what happens in the offseason we might be opening up against a top 25 team on the road. Hell if we make some moves in the portal we could be staring at a ranking going into Boulder. a W in that game will be massive to say we’re here to stay

I honestly don't care about the ranking and don't really want us to be ranked. Main two goals should be 1a - Win the ACC, 1aa - beat uGA. This gets us into the playoff with a BYE without any stain. If King wins the Heisman, good for him - if we're ranked, good for us. But just take care of what we can control and make a run!
