I wonder who made the decision? While I understand losing all those players and their coaches means a loss is pretty likely, that sucks for the 50+ remaining players who helped the team to a 10 win season only to get nothing for it.

Wondered the same thing. It could be you lose so much continuity with the team that you don’t feel you can get enough structure in place in time to offer backup players a reasonable learning experience. That’s a lot of chaos. Not saying it’s right or wrong to back out, just saying it creates lots of losers on several levels once you lose 25 players, whether the fans who already had tickets to the TV advertising that was paid for. Watching a bad practice session is no more fun than participating in one.

I think we may start seeing more of this in the future...unfortunately.

College football better fix itself immediately as this sport is heading in a horrible direction.
No rules. Wild West regarding NIL.

Needs structure and contracts. College football is now professional sports.

Heck even kids with playoff teams have hit the portal...THAT IS INSANE.
Portal should only open in the spring

Think about Army and how this sucks for them. An 11-win Army (possibly 12) team will now have to face an under .500 team since there are no more eligible six-win teams.

A sec and big 10 homer and podcaster stated that ONLY sec and big 10 teams should be in the playoff because they can bring 90k plus fans. This is where we are going.
I hope every secheat and big 10 team gets rocked!

I don't wonder why we lost the game in Athens with secheat and $10 mm on the line

Hate the direction college football is taking

Should we obligate coaches to remain with their teams until after the bowls have been completed? Reading more about this story, it seems that the players entered the portal after the coach resigned when contract talks stalled.

No, if the coach is leaving the sooner the better.
