Since Memorial Day is on Monday here's an American Hero. Here is PFC Charles George of Cherokee,North Carolina who won the Congressional Medal of Honor in the Korean War. On November 30th 1952 while leaving Chinese trenches during a recon mission a Chinese soldier hurled a hand grenade in the midst of PFC George and his comrades. PFC George yelled a warning, pushed his comrade out of the way of the danger and fell on the grenade absorbing the blast of the explosion. Although he was mortally wounded he never made a noise that would have given away their position. His comrades carried him away and he died at the forward aid station. Charles George was 20 years old. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/7827620/charles-george https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_George
