[QUOTE="FredJacket, post: 368660, member: 2843"] It sucks we're sitting here at 5-wins and starring at not making a bowl game. We played a difficult schedule and when you compare it to other ACC teams.. it is easy to get bitter about the fact we play Clemson every year. This year (as of today), Miami and Clemson are top 4 in the CFB Playoff rankings. Combined record of 20-1. 4 ACC teams played both Miami and Clemson. Here is the list and their OOC opponents' records to date: Ga Tech (5-5) OOC opp combined record 24-9 (.727) Va Tech (8-3) OOC opp combined record 22-22 (.500) FSU (4-6) OOC opp combined record 21-21 (.500) Syr (4-7) OOC opp combine record 28-16 (.636) When you have (this season) a schedule that includes Miami (road game), Clemson (road game), & UGA... combined record (30-2) and only get 11 games, the margin for error becomes pretty thin to get to 6 wins. I know I'm stating the obvious on that. Personally, I'll never 'wish' we set up a soft schedule just to increase odds of getting bowl eligible. I want to play a tough schedule. But there is this period (around this time of year) when I do look at teams with favorable draws in cross-divisional scheduling along with cupcake OOC schedules... and I do get a tab bit bitter.
