Still no Dani. Isn’t hurting us today as we lead by 20 at the half, but…how long will she be out?
Hamstrings are hard to predict. Particularly with athletes that are more muscular as Dani seems to be. Often I have heard announcers say she doesn't have the body of a freshman meaning that as a compliment. The worst thing you can do is rush someone back from a hamstring injury. As someone who suffered a torn hamstring in college I can tell you the rehab process is one that requires a lack of physical activity as the muscle fibers have to grow back together. of course these days there is a lot more that can be done to expedite the healing process with heat therapy and electro stimulation but the fact remains she can't push her recovery faster than the necessary time it takes to heal one of the body's largest muscles. In Dani's case I think she suffered a strained or pulled hamstring as opposed to a torn hamstring which is a good thing . But rush her back too soon and the injury occurs all over again. If we want to have any hope of a successful postseason we need her healthy.

There was a girls basketball tournament in Atlanta this past weekend. All teams had games Saturday and Monday, with Sunday off. All were invited to the game. Supposedly they had 5K of them RSVP for the game. It was nice to see. Hopefully, some come back.
I heard 83 teams from that tournament showed up. Even with parents and coaches that is no where near 5K. Let's say 12 girls per team. Two parents per girl (probably less than that because a lot of teams were from out of state. Then say 4 coaches per team. That comes to 1,528. Maybe 83 football teams could get you to 5k but not basketball teams.
