I hate to further derail this thread into a debate over Godhigh, but it's not like the 110 yards in the UGA game was his only good game against top competition. I know most people probably like to pretend the Clemson game never happened this year but against their NFL laden defense RG had 17...
That table didn't copy/paste over to the boards well but personally I think our total defense is inflated because our offense stays on the field a lot. Yards per play (to me) is a better measurement of where your defense is.
+1
Don't want everyone to get excited about this defense just yet. We are headed in the right direction but our yards per play is what really matters. I do like seeing us climbing up the ranks in INTs though. That's exciting to see.
I fully agree. We do have an advantage in that regard. Only teams with fast linebackers and decent DE's won't be fooled. But that's only a couple of teams out of the schedule. We definitely overperform our talent. CPJ had his best years when he had good talent on the field (NFL receiver and RB...
I definitely agree. One more year here would have definitely helped his mechanics. I can't blame him for leaving though. He's getting professional help now and he starts for an NFL team (not to mention the $$$ he's getting paid). He's living the dream right now.
The rant wasn't directed at you. I was talking to everyone. CPJ recruited and produced two NFL prospects in his 6 years (assuming he doesn't get any this year and I can't think of anyone who will?). Hill is a high talent receiver. He is one of CPJ's best recruits imo. However according to NFL...
It's funny how dedicated people are to defending CPJ. Our record against VT, UGA, Miami, and Clemson should make people mad but instead people are content with our mediocrity and that upsets me. We should be able to at least beat 2/4 teams every year. The way VT's program has been under Logan...
I forgot about Attachou. He is definitely a good one that stands a good chance starting somewhere at the next level. Hunt-Days has the body type but I want to wait and see how he develops as a player first. And I hope you're right with Mason and Louis Young. Young frustrates me because he is a...
I think what makes me upset the most is that most of these guys have no chance for the NFL. Golden and Jemea are the only two I see with a real chance right now. Smelter maybe if he keeps playing well. Sims is a guy I think that could be very good if he got the ball in pro-style but he will...
I would be nervous if you weren't at least questioning CPJ a little bit Eric. I think all of that is normal. Anyone who isn't is content being a 7-5 team is going to complain (which is what we will end up being this year). I think it's unacceptable.
Also CPJ should tell the guys that can't cut...
I couldn't stand how he hyped up JT to play this week and he played ONE real drive. Putting him in with 1 minute left doesn't count. The playcalling was horrible. Vad and JT are undercoached. Don't know how to scan the field. They have that go to receiver that the ball is going to before the...
I think it's disappointing that it's even close. Vad lee has a whole year more of experience more than JT. It should be obvious that VL is better. Can't teach a lot of aspects of being qb but you can teach the option. It's just repetition/practice til your comfortable
Am I the only one that teared up a little bit when Mariano Rivera was leaving the field? Petitte and Jeter going out on the field just made it that more special. The Sandman will be missed.
I don't think we did much different than last year? We didn't the option as much but VT shut that down last year so I'm glad we didn't. Other than that we put the same product on the field as we did in '12. I was dumbfounded we didn't come out in the diamond in the second half. QB was getting no...
He was a stud safety in high school. He was the only one on our sorry high school team that was worth a crap to be honest lol. Lead the county in tackles and just an all around tough player. Then he grew 3-4 inches and messed up everything.
Who can we expect at safety then Eric? Noble? Is Lynn Griffin going to safety for this game? Kind of surprised Corey Griffin is getting the go to be honest.
Edit: Noble was a stupid guess. He plays DB I think? It's confusing since every safety (except Isaiah) is listed as DB on Ramblinwreck.
I hope he shows a little balance in his playbook. I don't want to see blitzes ALL the time. Don't want it so predictable that a screen or tight end obliterate us.
