Oh yeah, I think that was probably before it was decided it wouldn't be a full band trip. We used to line the band bus windows with the center fold of the Hate Week Edition of the Technique for that trip as well. Unfortunately that tradition ended (unless they've been able to bring it back...

The band isn't performing on the field (unless something changed very recently), so anything similar to the tarp incident seems unlikely.

I think it was theorized somewhere earlier in the season, but GT is definitely only releasing a portion of tickets at a time in order to increase ticket prices and reduce the drop in value on the secondary market. I'd been monitoring all the ticket sites (including GT) for the ~2 weeks before...

I was actually surprised how many miami fans there were in most sections of the stadium. Very nice that our fans (and Band) were able to drown them out for most of the game! Guess it also explains why my strategy to wait 'til the last minute to buy cheaper tickets off the secondary market...

I'd like a game in the southeast/FL so I can actually attend again, although I think a leading option has been the Fenway Bowl.

I'm used to just pulling up to the GT hotel deck or the deck near biotech quad and paying day-of. I checked the pre-pay option and it's showing all those decks sold out. Should that be accurate or do they only set aside a portion of the decks for pre-paid?

Curious, is there a way to hide/ignore entire threads? I know most will eventually lose interest and drift onto the next page after a few days or weeks, but if we wanted to be proactive about it, could we?

Potentially relevant to season ticket costs and other changes. I can't get around the pay wall, but would be interested in some highlights/useful nuggets from anyone that can read it (as allowable)...

I believe it'll be a ~140 person pep band. Budget, it being Friday night instead of Saturday this year, and the Band being put in the very upper deck all played a role in the full band vs. pep band decision from what I was told. Since we moved visiting bands to the upper deck of BDS...

Athletics had to cut various budgets this year, which included the Band and Cheer Squad. This eliminated travel to away games except Ireland which was primarily funded through different means, and u(sic)ga, where they'll be sending a pep band.

For 2025, if they cut traveling to Colorado to open the season and the BC game, the other 3 away games are all in North Carolina with dook, wf and ncst. Hopefully, that would make it more feasible/affordable to at least bus Pep Bands to those 3 games, if Athletics finds it to be valuable enough...

Hopefully it'll just be for this year, although the prevailing thought/concern is that it'll become the "new normal". If you miss the Band and Cheer Squad at away games, let Athletics know, and maybe with enough feedback they can work out a better arrangement for future years.

Athletics cut the band budget almost 40% this year, along with other AA department cuts. While there was some crossover/impact, Ireland was largely covered by the game hosts, over a year and a half of separate fundraising, and the band students themselves.

Would actually have been nice if they'd made it an annual tradition (with our usual uniform combos, no need for the gray).
